Pearl W. Yee M.D. is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). Dr. Yee specializes in woman's health by providing services in general obstetrics and gynecology, menopause management, infertility evaluations, aesthetics, minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries and is a certified proctor in robotic surgery.
Dr. Yee’s office in San Francisco is located in the Sunset/Lakeside area on Ocean Avenue at the corner of 19th Avenue. She admits patients to California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC), Chinese Hospital, Marin General Hospital and Seton Medical Center. At CPMC, she presently serves on the GYN quality and new technology committees, organizes the journal club and annual departmental grand rounds on updates in OB/GYN.
Dr. Yee was born in San Francisco's Chinatown. She attended the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine and completed her residency in OB/GYN at San Francisco Kaiser in 1987. Dr. Yee entered private practice and has been on active staff at California Pacific Medical Center since 1987. Pearl Yee M.D. serves as Assistant Clinical Professor for Residents and Medical Students for the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), where she consistently receives annual teaching awards. She is also one of the top 5 requested national speakers on preventing hereditary female cancers for Myriad Laboratories.
ABOUT THE PRACTICE
Dr. Pearl Yee evolved from a solo doctor into a group specialty practice for 15 years and then returned to solo private practice in 2007. Dr. Yee believes in personal attention and covers her own calls 24/7. On a part-time basis, Dr. Izumi Cabrera and Dr. Micheal Baggish also collaborate and share the Ocean Avenue office space. Dr. Cabrera works for the Sutter Foundation Hospital system and has the most favorable patient reviews and bedside manner. Dr. Baggish is a renowned OB/GYN, who authored many articles and standard text books in the field of gynecology. He volunteers at UCSF where the Residents and students are known for asking him to autograph his textbooks. Dr. Baggish is truly one of the “giants” in our field and is available for Vulvar Disease consults every Monday morning.
When out of town or on vacation, the physicians from Dr. Yee's previous group (San Francisco Woman's Health), Dr. Izumi Cabrera’s primary group (OB/GYN Associates of San Francisco), Dr. Doug Rittenhouse et al (Seton Hospital) and Dr. Lizellen Lafollette (Marin General Hospital) accept her referral patients.
Dr. Yee is married with 3 children and is actively involved in community service. She reminds her patients that health involves the body, mind and spirit. Patients seek Dr. Yee for her ability to problem-solve, attention to detail, down to earth approachable nature, and having a truly caring heart. Dr. Yee's physician's assistant, May Deng is available to answer questions when Dr. Yee is in surgery or delivering a baby. May Deng, PA also sees patients with Dr. Yee, adding depth and detail to our office team approach to provide comprehensive womens' health care. Dr. Yee's aesthetic nurse, Vicky is available for laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, skin tightening with Re-firm and microdermabrasion services. The aesthetic machines and technology are also used to improve scars from surgery and cesarean sections.
